Why gather?   Why worship?

As a lay person, I’m absorbed and intrigued by what happens in church.   What does happen; what could happen; what should happen.  I’m curious about how worship brings us to life, how it affects us beyond the church.

And because worship brings us to life, I’m also interested in how we bring worship to life.   How do we as a church make worship mean something?

It’s a personal reflection, from all kinds of angles, on what worship can be.

PS – my home church is one where we celebrate the Eucharist each week, so that’s often the liturgy I refer to.   But I do worship elsewhere and in other church traditions too.
